Meet Citizen Tsuyosa, the automatic watch collection that brings integrated-bracelet style, bold dials and Japanese watchmaking together.
Automatic Japanese movement
The Tsuyosa story
Citizen Tsuyosa reimagines the look of the popular NH299 mechanical watches sold in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The new collection keeps that confident sports-watch character, then sharpens it with clean cases, integrated-style bracelets, sapphire crystal and an expressive range of dial colours.
The name Tsuyosa expresses “strength” or “power” in Japanese. That suits a watch designed to be noticed, yet made for regular wear. From vivid 37mm and 40mm models to Small Second and 60-hour editions, the family now offers more choice than ever.
Tsuyosa gives you the character of a mechanical watch, the practicality of sapphire crystal and an integrated-bracelet look at an accessible Citizen price.
Choose your collection
The design language is consistent, but case size, movement, dial layout and power reserve change across the range.
The classic choice. Most NJ015 models pair a three-hand date layout with Citizen’s automatic calibre 8210 and an approximate 42-hour power reserve.
A balanced unisex size for smaller wrists or anyone who prefers a more compact watch without losing the colourful Tsuyosa look.
Powered by calibre 8310, these models provide an approximate 60-hour reserve, enough to take the watch off for a day or two and keep it running.
A separate seconds display gives the dial a more traditional mechanical feel, while selected models add textured dials or leather straps.
A stronger visual treatment for buyers who want extra presence, contrasting finishes and a distinctive bezel-led design.
Warm gold-tone and mixed-metal finishes make Tsuyosa feel dressier while keeping its sporty bracelet and colourful personality.

Quick buying guide
A strong dial colour gets attention, but case size and power reserve have the biggest effect on everyday ownership.
Citizen Tsuyosa FAQ
Tsuyosa means “strength” or “power” in Japanese. Citizen uses the name for a colourful automatic collection with sporty, integrated-bracelet styling.
Yes. Tsuyosa watches use mechanical automatic movements that wind through the motion of your wrist. They do not use a battery, and current models can also be hand-wound.
It depends on the model. Many classic NJ015 Tsuyosa watches provide approximately 42 hours. Tsuyosa 60 models with calibre 8310 provide approximately 60 hours. Check the individual product specification before buying.
Current Tsuyosa models commonly use sapphire crystal, valued for its strong scratch resistance. Some references add an anti-reflective treatment or a date magnifier.
Choose 37mm for a neater, compact fit or a versatile unisex option. Choose 40mm for the classic Tsuyosa proportions and a little more wrist presence. Your wrist shape and preference matter more than gender labels.
Many Tsuyosa models are rated to 50 metres or 5 bar. Citizen describes this rating as suitable for still-water swimming on relevant models, but always check the exact reference, keep the crown fully closed and avoid operating it underwater. Rinse the watch after salt water.
Tsuyosa is a mechanical watch, so some daily variation is normal. Published accuracy depends on the calibre and is measured under set conditions. Magnetism, temperature, position and activity can all affect real-world timekeeping.

Wear it regularly or wind it gently when needed, keep it away from strong magnets and hard impacts, and wipe the case and bracelet with a soft cloth. Have water resistance checked periodically if the watch is regularly exposed to water.
